Hull RUFC

Hull Rugby Union was formed in 1992 as a result of a merger between Old Hymerians and Hull and East Riding RUFC. Old Hymerians were formed in 1925 whilst the Riding could trace their origins back to 1901.

After several promotions the club now find themselves playing in National Division 2 (North). The club currently play their home matches at Hull Sports Centre in Hull, which is a multi sports facility on a 15 acre site on Chanterlands Avenue in the City.

The clubs long term goal is to gain promotion into the higher echelons of the national leagues and have a structure in place to be able to sustain this level of rugby. We firmly believe we are now a long way down the road of being able to achieve this.

The teams are coached by Tevita Vaikona, who was appointed Director of Rugby in June 2008. This appointment was seen as a major step in realising our goals. He has a proven track record of playing both rugby League and Rugby Union at national and International level.

A big part of Tevita's role will be to work with the clubs development officers and junior coaches to develop and expand our mini and juniors set up. We see this playing a very important part in the club’s future and we firmly believe that we will soon have the facillities and structure to be able to offer people of all ages the opportunity to improve and develop.
We are always keen to welcome new players both young and old and also adults to help with coaching. So come on give us a Try!
